It's Easter, time for an adventure and some R&R... followed by chocolate and fizzy juice! My current College assignment revolves primarily around gaining a better understanding of a more traditional silver based photography and the associated darkroom printing techniques. So far it has been a quick introduction and a jump straight in at the deep end, primarily as time is restricted now that we are already at the half-way point. A few rolls of 35mm B&W film have been developed, contact sheets have been made and some prints have been created. However, I suspect these are but the first few steps along a long a dusty road... So, we're entering the final week of our Portraiture Photography assignment and it's getting hectic again. Thankfully I've been able to keep myself busy with research and creating my project workbook, so that's looking good, but I fear that actual photography has taken somewhat of a back seat so far. As such, I made a concerted effort over the past weekend to pull together a final photo session in order to make my selection for final images. Hopefully they can be shipped of to the Print Lab soon, once I complete some tweaking, and then it's back to finishing the workbook and my conclusions. Fun, fun!

So I'm almost at the half-way mark on my first Photography Assignment, titled "Finding Form". I've been tasked with producing a panel of nine images that convey defining form of a three-dimensional object, using only natural light. Research has been enjoyable, thoughts, ideas and plans have been bountiful and initial photo-shoots have proved fruitful. Next stage is to assemble my work into a cohesive collection and progress on to planning further shoots and producing the next round of contact sheets for analysis. But first, I must rest and recompose my senses...
